The N-TEC spec level is almost a limited edition. Slotted in to the 2018 range at launch while production of the Ti's extra safety systems ramped up, the $36,490 N-TEC filled the breach.

Sitting above the ST-L, the N-TEC features 19-inch alloys, active LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, auto headlights and wipers, panoramic sunroof, rear centre armrest (and therefore four cupholders rather than two), sat nav, 7.0-inch media screen, DAB+ radio, six-speaker stereo, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a space-saver spare. And, er, mood lighting.

The five-star safety package expands yet further, with reverse cross traffic alert added to six airbags, ABS, stability and traction controls, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, reversing camera, 360-degree around-view camera and forward auto emergency braking.

Under the bonnet is Nissan's MR20DD petrol engine, a 2.0-litre four cylinder developing 106kW and 200Nm. CVT auto is standard and drives the front wheels.
